GAME: MOOSE BROWN BEAR GRIZZLY BEAR FISHING
Hunting is from Aug 19th to Oct 2nd. Fly into camp on the first day. September 5-15 is Moose season with 3 hunts at the tent camp on Tikchik River and 3 more hunts at the lodge on Lake Beverly. At the Tikchik camp jet boats are used to hunt moose. Average Moose will go 60”. Brown Bear can be hunted from August 19th to October 2nd. Great Fishing on either Bear hunts. Also Spring Brown Bear hunts off Admiralty Island.
Clients fly commercially to Anchorage, stay overnight there, and continue to travel by regional commercial carrier (Alaska Air or Peninsula Air) to Dillingham. All hunts require an air taxi fly-in to any camp (approx. $950 US). In 2015, 6 hunters took 6 brown bear. Five hunters took 4 trophy moose and 10 hunters took 7 brown bear.
This operation has served Alaska for the last 31 years, since 1986. Success has been 85% on Moose, 90% on Brown & Grizzly Bears, and over 90% on trophy Caribou. Moose average 61 inches and average brown bear run up to 9 feet. Last year one hunter counted over 100 bears on his hunt. All hunts are 1x1.
